About
My creative story began at my kindergarten graduation when I decided I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I am a fourth-generational artist on my mom’s side and have watched my family create art in all different types of mediums. I took art classes in high school and decided to move forward with acquiring a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design at Pensacola Christian College in 2021. During college, I accomplished many design leadership positions. I was an Assistant Design Director for a publication design class and a class project leader for an advertisement display. My heart to help others and build relationships has driven me to seek wonderful opportunities. The year after college I became an Art Teacher's Assistant and Tech-Suite Assistant at my college helping students learn and grow as designers and print projects for their classes. In Fall of 2023, I decided to go back to school for my Master's college and graduated later that summer in June of 2024 with honors. Since then I have been freelancing for different clients and looking for opportunities that will leverage my creativity and experience in my field.
When it comes to design, art, to me, is not just color on a canvas or work hanging on the wall, it is an opportunity to communicate to everyone who sees it. We see art and design everywhere! Every piece affects who we are. Whether it affects our emotions, thoughts or ideas, art has the ability to shape who we are as a person. As a graphic artist, my goal is to communicate through design in a world saturated with information. I take great pride in creating informative designs that not only "look good", but have a story and a purpose behind them.
The way art is perceived affects the way we respond which is why I have developed my area of expertise around brand identification and layout design. Because I focus on the concept of communication, I pay close attention to detail and the creativity of my work. When I begin my creative process, I start by taking a hands-on approach by sketching what ideas come to mind first. My inspiration can come from anywhere, but I am always fascinated by other designers who can take a complex idea and break it down to its simplest form. “The less the better” is something my mother, a former artist, would say to me growing up. Clutter can often distract from the message; therefore, simplicity and draftsmanship are highly important in my work. I enjoy working through my creative process; however, my favorite part of the whole process is getting to hold the finished result.
